Just watched a chiffchaff in my garden for several minutes whilst it had a bath in the pond. Not rare, or even scarce nowadays, but a first in my garden for several years.

2 Greenfinch, 2 Goldfinch, several Great and Blue Tits, adults and juveniles, 15+ House Sparrows and record 7 Collared Doves including 2 Juveniles feeding on scraps from the bird feeders, 3 Wood Pigeons and six Blackbirds.
The Blackbirds are addicted to grapes, one waits on the doorstep each morning for his grapes!!!

Has winter arrived in the garden? Small flocks of Redwing and Fieldfare stripping the holly berries and windfall apples. Brambling (male) arrived. Starling numbers have tripled as too have Chaffinch and Greenfinch. Some of the now and then summer visitors are in the garden every day now … Nuthatch, Goldcrest, Pied Wagtail. Just waiting on the return of over wintering Blackcap.
