AFFILIATION
SECOS is affiliated to Cheshire & Wirral Ornithological Society (CAWOS) and British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).
OBJECTS
The objects of the society are to promote and foster an interest in ornithology by observation, research and record keeping.
NEWSLETTER
The society produces a comprehensive annual newsletter each August and a supplementary edition at each indoor meeting.
ANNUAL REPORT
This lists the status of all birds seen in the SECOS recording area in each year. It is a summary of members’ records, reports of local rarities seen during the year, reports of surveys carried out and lots of local information.
LIBRARY
The society has a small library of books, pamphlets and videotapes which are available for members to borrow free of charge. Although a lot of the books are quite old there are some classics amongst them that are still readable and relevant today.
SHOP
Nuts and seeds for bird feeding are on sale at each indoor meeting at a very reasonable cost.
