However, since this is such a big job Charles will be organising the TTVs himself but has asked local bird clubs for help with the Roving Records. So for SECOS the fieldwork in the 10-km squares SJ75 and SJ76 will be organised by Colin Lythgoe with all documentation (instructions, recording forms etc) provided by the BTO via Charles Hull and Colin.
Fieldwork for the Roving Records will be much easier than that for the CAWOS Atlas; in particular there will be NO habitat recording! Basically you are just required to record any birds that you see during the survey periods, noting which 10-km square they were in, the breeding status during the breeding season survey and record them using standard codes.
When details have been finalised and documentation is available I will be asking for volunteers before the first recording period starting on 1st November 2007. So be prepared, we want to make sure that all species within the SECOS area in both recording periods are recorded in the Atlas.
