A pleasant surprise at Doddington this morning with 3 male Common Scoter feeding close to the drive to the hall.A couple of back up birds were,Common Sandpiper,Kingfisher and Oystercatchers.

A damp day at Doddington this morning but nice to see another brood of tufted duck with a female and 11 small ducklings on the pool. Also 110 greylag feeding on the barley stubble.

Green Woodpecker and Kestrel were new for the month at Lea Forge this morning.The second clutch of two Oystercatcher eggs have failed to hatch at Doddington .

At Doddington this morning the little owl was perched on the willow tree at 08-30 and still there at 11-00. Another brood of Tufted on Lemon Pool with a female + 6 small juvs.

Little Owl on the same branch as last Friday and our first Kingfisher of the year for Doddington this morning.Also families of Mistle Thrush and Jay,G.S.Woodpecker,Greenfinches and a recent female Pochard.Sightings at Lea Forge were,Bullfinches,Ravens,Skylarks,Whitethroats,Blackcaps,Chiffchaff,Goldcrest,Linnets,Greenfinches,Stock Dove and Red-legged Partridge.Sadly the Black Swan at Doddington was lying dead on the south side of the island.

At Doddington this morning, nice views of a little owl perched in the dead tree, 30 swifts feeding overhead, female tufted duck with 4 ducklings – at last!, great crested grebe 2 pairs with young, little grebe 2 pairs with young and the last bird as we were going – a kingfisher; not a bad morning.

At Doddington this morning 2 little owls were both juvs, black swan 1, teal 3, mute swan 83, gc grebe a pair with one small juv , no sign of last week’s spotted flycatcher, one oystercatcher still on a probable nest
