    Borrow Pit Meadows – 1150

    Robin and female Teal still coming to food, 7 Mallards on pool

    13 Swallows through, in ones and twos

    2 Hobbys from the high ground at Lea Forge,Wybunbury this morning and 1 Peregrine on the pylons and another along the tree line at the same time.

    Very quiet at the moment

    A couple of highlights from Doddington this morning,3 Black-necked Grebe,Common Sand at the back of the pool and a Sedge Warbler in the corner of the sailing club.

    Borrow Pit Meadows – 1100

    6 Common Buzzards, 25 Swallows, 2 Swifts and 7 House Martins through
    On the pool female Teal still and Robin coming to food on the bench

    Also a report of a Barn Owl flying between old railway line and Betchton Lane a few days ago at dusk

    Egyptian Geese into their 4th week at Doddington this morning but no sight of the L.Egrets or the family of Reed Warblers from the end of the sailing club.Also singles of Oystercatcher and Common Sand and 2 Kestrels on the wires briefly.Last week we had a juv Grey Wagtail along the shoreline opposite the main road,a Garden Warbler close to the fisherman hut on the lower pool,Ravens and a single August Swift.

    Cheshire boundary heard in Barley field
    Heard good distance apart so possibly 2 ?

    “A quiet morning at Doddington for me today. Two broods of tufted on the Lemon Pool with 4 large imms and 7 small juvs. Also of note on the main pool 2 little egrets, 3 cormorants, 42 mute swans and a kingfisher. 15 gc grebes with a fem on a nest in the reeds by the hall car park. Next on the list should be Tufted Puffin.”
