At Doddington this morning, my best birds of the winter. Even though just 4 Lesser Redpoll they were low down and very close, and I watched them for several minutes as they fed on silver birch cones in the winter sunshine. Also good to watch the stonechat pair feeding in the sheep field. Not much on the water, mainly 39 tufted, 12 goldeneye and 3 shoveler.
